# A Special Message From Bo-Katan Kryze and the Armorer

Celebrate Reading Week had just begun. Two actors, Emily Swallow and Katee Sackhoff from The Mandalorian, were visiting Jacksonville for Collective Con. During their stay, the desire to Drop Everything and Read grew stronger. Children and their families gathered forth, as if pulled by some Force... They knew the power of reading!

Tales of the Empire

In 2022, Disney released Tales of the Jedi, a series of animated shorts that filled in some narrative gaps in the stories of two former Jedi: Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano. The next installment, Tales of the Empire, drops this year on Disney+ on Star Wars Day with stories of Night Sister Morgan Elsbeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee - characters who cross paths with Anakin Skywalker's apprentice at some point in their lives. Of course, if you're interested in more stories of the Empire or the Dark Side, check out Thrawn by Timothy Zahn, Star Wars Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson, and Dark Disciple by Christie Golden.

For Light and Life

The other (latest) development in Star Wars has been the High Republic novels and comics. Set 200 years before The Phantom Menace, it shows the Jedi and the Republic at the height of their power. The adventure begins in The Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule. You might also want to check out There Is No Fear by Cavan Scott, which collects issues one through five of the High Republic comics.
